The last place at this year's Game Changers Championship will be decided in the same city as the Championship itself. Riot Games announced on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, that the Game Changers Americas Last Chance Qualifier will be played on LAN at the Riot Games Arena São Paulo, in the Barra Funda district, on October 14 and 15. The winner joins the Championship, which opens in the same arena a week later, on October 22.
A Last Chance Qualifier, shortened to LCQ, is what its name says: a final tournament for teams that just missed direct qualification. This one gathers three teams, the second seeds of the three regional Game Changers circuits of the Americas, in Brazil, North America and Latin America. Game Changers is a separate Valorant circuit that Riot Games runs beside its main competition, and it ends each year with an international Championship.
Riot's post names none of the three teams. North America's season, which will produce one of them, runs until September.

Two days, three teams, one final
The format fits in two days. On Wednesday, October 14, from 11 AM Pacific time, the three teams play a round robin, a group in which every team meets each of the others once. Each team therefore plays two series, and the team that finishes third is out.
On Thursday, October 15, from 2 PM Pacific time, the two best teams of the round robin play a best-of-five, a series won by the first team to take three maps, a map being one full game of Valorant. The winner qualifies for the Game Changers Championship 2026.

- Final, October 15The top two play a best-of-five. The winner goes to the Championship.
Just as last year, the post says, the LCQ brings together the seed 2 teams of the three circuits. Riot's description of the 2025 edition, published on October 21, 2025, gave more of the detail on how that edition was played. That year the round robin was played in best-of-three series, and ties were settled with the tiebreaker rules of Riot's global events. A team that won both of its matches on the first day received an advantage for the final: two bans and priority pick in the next day's best-of-five.
Who represents each circuit
All three teams are seed 2, the second-best team of their region's season. For North America, the post defines the place precisely: it goes to the team with the second most Game Changers Championship Circuit Points that did not win Stage 2.
Circuit Points are the currency of the North American season. Riot's announcement of the 2026 season, published on December 18, 2025, says the main event of each of the two stages awards them, and that they decide both North America's representative at the Championship and its entrant in the LCQ at the end of the season. The Kickoff tournament that opened the year, a one-off event with a US$10,000 prize pool, awarded none.
The first stage is complete: eight teams played its main event from May 29 to June 5. The second is under way: the Stage 2 Swiss Event began on July 13 with sixteen teams and runs to August 17. In a Swiss format, teams with the same record are paired against each other each round; here a team needs four wins to advance and is out after four losses, according to Riot's post of July 10.

Eight of its teams were invited on the strength of their place in the Stage 1 Main Event, and the others came through two open qualifiers, tournaments that any eligible team may enter. The December announcement gave both stages the same general shape: open qualifiers, then a Swiss stage, then a main event of eight teams in a double-elimination bracket, in which a team is out only after its second defeat. For the first stage it gave 32 teams to each open qualifier and sixteen to the Swiss stage.
The circuit is run by Raidiant, which Riot describes as founded by women, for women, and names as the season's tournament organizer and broadcast partner. Raidiant also runs an Academy series of five weekend events, each with a US$2,000 prize pool; the December announcement says several first-time Academy competitors have gone on to compete in Game Changers NA. During the Swiss stage, the featured Match of the Week is shown on the Valorant Americas channels, and the other matches on Raidiant's own channels.
The eight survivors play the Stage 2 Main Event from September 1 to 9, with a final day on LAN in Los Angeles on September 17. Only after that day will North America's two places be settled, one at the Championship and one in São Paulo's LCQ. The whole North American season is played for US$150,000 in prize money, the December announcement says.
Brazil and Latin America each run their own Game Changers circuit, and Riot's post identifies their entrants only as the second seeds of those seasons.

The LCQ is not new to São Paulo. In 2025 it was also played at the Riot Games Arena in the city, in front of a live audience, on November 1 and 2. The three teams were MIBR for Brazil, Akave Esports for Latin America and Wadadaa for North America, each second in its circuit. Their regions' first seeds, Team Liquid Visa, KRÜ Blaze and Shopify Rebellion, had already qualified for the Championship.
Riot recalled in April 2026 that Wadadaa was seeded into this year's North American Swiss stage through that LCQ, beside Shopify Rebellion, seeded through its qualification for the 2025 Championship. Shopify Rebellion Gold went on to finish runner-up at the 2025 Championship, Riot's post of May 22 noted.
The calendar is what changes most this year. The 2025 Championship was played in Seoul from November 20 to 30, eighteen days after the LCQ final and on another continent. In 2026 the gap is one week, and the qualified team does not travel.

The Championship that follows
The Game Changers Championship is the international event that ends the Game Changers year. Riot set out the 2026 edition on July 8: ten qualified teams, from the regional circuits of the Americas, EMEA, the Pacific and China, play from October 22 to November 1 at the Riot Games Arena São Paulo.
The winner of the LCQ is the last of the ten. It arrives with a week to prepare and no journey to make, while teams from the other regions come to Brazil for the event.

General admission costs R$160 a day from October 22 to 28, for the early stages and the playoffs, and R$210 a day for the finals weekend, October 30 to November 1. Doors open at 2 PM Brasília time and the show begins at 3 PM. Each checkout is limited to two tickets.
What a seat at the LCQ costs
The LCQ is cheaper. Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 18, at 1 PM Pacific time through Eventim, where fans can already pre-register. A full-price ticket costs R$120 a day, and a half-price ticket R$60.
Half price follows the law of São Paulo state
Riot sells the R$60 tickets in accordance with the legislation in force in the state of São Paulo, without listing who qualifies. Each buyer may take four tickets at most per event day.
Both days are played in front of a live audience. Doors open one hour before the first match, which means 10 AM Pacific time on the round-robin day and 1 PM Pacific time on the day of the final.
Set beside the Championship, a day at the LCQ costs R$40 less than an early day of the Championship and R$90 less than a day of its finals weekend, at full price. The buying limit is also wider: four tickets per event day against two per checkout.
A circuit with a longer horizon
The LCQ arrives in a season that is already preparing the next one. In its outline of the 2027 Valorant season, published on June 18, Riot said that a non-partner team that qualifies for the Game Changers Championship would receive an additional incentive of US$100,000.
For the three teams that reach São Paulo in October, that sum belongs to next year's structure, not to this one. This year's prize is the place itself: a seat among the ten at the Championship, in the arena where the LCQ is played.
What comes first is the regional season. North America's Swiss stage ends on August 17, the main event follows in September, and the final day in Los Angeles on September 17 settles which team takes the North American seed. The tickets for the LCQ go on sale the next day.
The name this event could hold, on the bracket and everywhere else.
