Fans who want a seat at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship now have a calendar. Riot Games published the ticket plan for Worlds 2026 on Thursday, May 28: registration for its Fan First program opens on June 1 and closes on June 30, verified fans get a presale on July 22, and the general sale, which Riot labels General Admission, follows on July 24. Every step opens at 8:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time, and the tickets are sold through Ticketmaster.

The same day, the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, the arena that will host most of the tournament, relayed the dates on its own news page. Worlds runs from October 15 to November 14 across three American cities, and the ticket plan applies to the whole event.

A registration before any sale

Fan First is a registration step that comes before the sale itself. Riot says the system returns to help combat bots, automated programs that try to buy tickets, and to give priority to people who play the game. Signing up does not guarantee a ticket: it gives a fan a chance to reach the ticket queue.

Fans sign in with their Riot ID on the tickets page of the LoL Esports site. There they choose a ticket window according to the stage of the event and the location they want, since Worlds is played in three different buildings this year.

The process from there runs in five steps.

How a verified fan reaches a Worlds 2026 ticket
  1. Register, June 1 to June 30Sign in with a Riot ID and choose a ticket window by stage and location.
  2. Account checkRiot verifies the account through its email address, including a check of in-game behavior.
  3. Access codeA verified fan receives a unique, one-time code at the email tied to the Riot ID.
  4. Smart QueueFrom the July 22 presale, the code opens Ticketmaster's sale page, where fans join a virtual line and enter the code.
  5. Purchase windowEach fan has 24 hours to buy once the window opens. Then Fan First access ends.

Who gets through the check

At the center of the plan is the account check. Riot uses the email address of a fan's Riot account to verify that account, and the check includes a look at the player's in-game behavior. The page does not detail the criteria. The same address receives the access code and the event updates.

The code is unique and can be used once. The Smart Queue it leads to is a virtual waiting line on Ticketmaster, where the code is entered to buy.

Before July 22

The Ticketmaster email must match the Riot account email

Riot sets the match between the two addresses as a requirement of the Fan First sale and highlights it on its ticket sales page.

Once a fan's purchase window opens, the 24-hour limit applies. When the window closes, access to the Fan First sale ends for that fan. The page gives no price, no number of seats and no limit on the number of tickets per buyer.

The general sale on July 24

Two days after the presale, the general sale opens on Friday, July 24, also at 8:00 AM PDT. Riot describes it as first come, first served. The Fan First registration, the account check and the access code all lead to the July 22 presale.

The calendar fits what Riot promised in March. When it set the venues of Worlds on March 22, the publisher wrote that tickets would be released in mid to late July and that more updates would follow. The May 28 page turns that promise into firm dates, four days before registration opens.

Which building hosts which stage

Worlds 2026 is spread over three buildings in three states, and each ticket window is tied to one of them. Riot set the venues and the dates of each stage in its March 22 update. The arena in Allen confirmed on May 28 that it hosts the Swiss Stage, the quarterfinals and the semifinals.

The Play-In was first planned for Allen as well. Riot moved it to its own arena in Los Angeles because of what it called a few logistical challenges. In the Play-In, four teams play a double-elimination bracket of best-of-five series, meaning the first team to win three games takes the series, and only one team advances.

Most of the tournament stays in Allen, Texas. Riot describes the city as just north of Dallas and says its central location makes it an accessible stop for fans across North America. The arena's own page, published with the ticket news, adds practical points for those who travel: the box office opens only on ticketed event days, from one hour before doors open, and parking is available in the venue's South Parking Garage.

The tournament behind the tickets

The tickets are for a field of 19 teams. Riot's March update gives three places each to Korea's LCK, China's LPL, Europe's LEC, North America's LCS and the Asia-Pacific LCP, two to Brazil's CBLOL, one to the winner of the Mid-Season Invitational and one to the region that finishes second there. The MSI champion keeps its place only if it reaches the playoffs of its home league.

The format largely mirrors that of Worlds 2025, Riot wrote, with changes limited to the Play-In and to regional seeding. Seeding, the order in which teams are placed in the draw, will be based on regional performance, MSI 2026 results included, and Riot said the details would be announced later. In the 2025 edition, the Swiss Stage had 16 teams, drawn in three tiers of five, six and five teams. In the first round, tier one met tier three and tier two met tier two, with no two teams of the same region facing each other. From the second round, each team met an opponent with the same record, and never the same opponent twice. Eight teams went through to the knockout stage: two with three wins and no defeat, three with three wins and one defeat, and three with three wins and two defeats. The Swiss rounds used best-of-one and best-of-three series, a best-of-one being a single game. The quarterfinals, semifinals and final were all best-of-five, as was the Play-In, whose winner joined the Swiss Stage.

That edition was played in China. The Play-In opened in Beijing on October 14, 2025, the Swiss Stage followed there from October 15 to 25, and the knockout stage moved to Shanghai and Chengdu, with quarterfinals from October 28 to 31, semifinals on November 1 and 2, and the final in Chengdu on November 9.

The 2026 calendar is longer: 31 days from the first Play-In match to the final, against 27 days in 2025, from October 14 to November 9. The Swiss Stage covers eight match days in Allen, split by a pause on October 27, and the quarterfinals keep a four-day block, as in 2025. The final comes six days after the second semifinal, against seven days in 2025, and it is the only part of the event played on the East Coast. For a fan, the stage, the city and the travel are chosen at registration, since each ticket window is tied to a stage and a location.

A different system from MSI

Riot does not sell every event the same way. For the Mid-Season Invitational, to be played from June 28 to July 12 at the Daejeon Convention Center II in South Korea, the March update announced tickets sold through NOL World, a ticketing platform. Mastercard cardholders had a presale on April 21 and the global general sale followed on April 23, both open to buyers with a passport. Sales in South Korea, which required a Korean identification number, opened on May 21.

Worlds uses a different filter. Instead of a card brand, the priority goes to verified Riot accounts, and the queue runs through Ticketmaster rather than NOL World.

What comes next

The next date is Monday, June 1, when registration opens at 8:00 AM PDT. It closes on Tuesday, June 30, at the same hour, three weeks before the presale for verified fans on Wednesday, July 22. The general sale follows on Friday, July 24, 83 days before the first match of the Play-In.

Riot asks fans to follow its LoL Esports accounts and the Worlds 2026 hashtag for further updates. The tournament itself opens on Thursday, October 15, with the Play-In in Los Angeles, and ends on Saturday, November 14, with the final at the Barclays Center.
