Team Vitality won eight of its nine series in the regular season of the LEC Spring Split, finished first, and then left the playoffs without winning a single game. For the Summer Split, the organization has changed one name in its League of Legends lineup. Humanoid, its Czech mid laner, is benched, and FIESTA starts in his place for the Summer Split, Sheep Esports reported on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in its review of the team's completed roster.

The other four starters keep their places. The outlet also reports one change on the coaching staff, where Hansen arrives as assistant coach and Lukezy leaves the organization.

The LEC is the top League of Legends league of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, run by the publisher Riot Games. Its year is divided into three competitions called splits, and Summer is the last of them. It starts on July 24.

One change in a five that stays together

A League of Legends team has five positions. The mid laner holds the central lane of the map alone. That is the only position Team Vitality has touched.

According to Sheep Esports, the lineup for Summer is Naak Nako in the top lane, Lyncas in the jungle, FIESTA in the mid lane, Carzzy as AD carry and Fleshy as support. The AD carry and the support play together in the bottom lane; the jungler moves between the three lanes.

Humanoid is benched, which is not the same as being released. A benched player is taken out of the starting lineup, and Sheep Esports reports a benching, not a departure. The outlet sets the change against the results: it comes after two splits in which Team Vitality did not break into the top four, and a place in that top four is the goal it gives for the team in Summer.

From first place to an early playoff exit

The Spring Split is where the gap between the regular season and the playoffs opened. The path of the team's year can be followed through Sheep Esports' reports.

  1. Start of the seasonHumanoid joins Team Vitality as its mid laner.
  2. Spring regular seasonEight series won, one lost, to Karmine Corp. Team Vitality finish first.
  3. May 24Naak Nako is named most valuable player of the regular season, minutes before a playoff series.
  4. Spring playoffsTwo series lost by three games to none, to Movistar KOI and GIANTX. Fifth place.
  5. Summer SplitHumanoid is benched. FIESTA takes the mid lane in the lineup published on July 12.

The regular season was played as a single round robin: each of the ten teams met every other team once, in best-of-three series, won by the first team to take two games. Team Vitality ended it with eight wins and one loss, and Sheep Esports reported on June 22 that the only defeat came against Karmine Corp.

The individual award followed. On Sunday, May 24, the LEC named Naak Nako, the team's top laner, most valuable player of the Spring regular season, Sheep Esports reported the next day. Forty people voted: 35 of them placed him as the best top laner in the league, and 16 gave him their first-place vote for the overall award, one fewer than his closest rival, who was placed less consistently on the other ballots. He led the league in several of the statistics the outlet lists, among them solo kills and gold difference after fifteen minutes, and became the first top laner to take the award since the spring of 2017. He had come through Vitality.Bee, the organization's team in the LFL, which he joined in 2024.

The award was announced a few minutes before Team Vitality's playoff series against Movistar KOI. Playoff series are best-of-five, won by the first team to take three games. Team Vitality lost that one three games to none, then lost to GIANTX by the same score, and finished fifth. According to Sheep Esports, it was the first time a team seeded first went out of the LEC playoffs without winning a game. The two Spring finalists went to the Mid-Season Invitational, the international tournament of the middle of the year, under the format Riot Games published on October 23, 2025.

Humanoid, half a season in the Vitality mid lane

Humanoid joined Team Vitality at the beginning of the 2026 season. He had been at Fnatic, where he was moved to the bench in 2025 and replaced for that year's Summer Split, before becoming a free agent, a player without a contract, at the end of 2025, Sheep Esports wrote on June 22.

He played the first two splits of the year in the starting five. Sheep Esports' statistics page credits him with 18 games for the team in LEC Versus, the opening competition of the year, and 31 in the Spring Split.

FIESTA, from Korean second teams to a title in Türkiye

FIESTA is 23 and has never played in the LEC. Sheep Esports describes him as the first Korean import of this roster; an import, in League of Legends, is a player who comes from another region's circuit.

His career, as the outlet retraces it, began in 2020 in the LCK AS, in South Korea. He then joined the Challengers roster of Nongshim RedForce, the club's second team, which plays in LCK CL, and won that league's summer title in 2022. Between then and 2024 he was called up several times to Nongshim RedForce's roster in the LCK, the league above it.

Those spells were hard ones in terms of results. Sheep Esports counts 81 games for him in the LCK, of which his team won 19, a win rate of 23%.

The next step took him toward Europe. In the summer of 2024 he moved to Türkiye to join Papara SuperMassive, in the TCL. He won the TCL there and twice reached the quarterfinals of EMEA Masters, a tournament of the same region. He went back to South Korea in 2026 with BNK FEARX Youth; Sheep Esports writes that his first two splits there did not go particularly well.

His champion pool, the characters he has played most, is led by Ahri with 39 games, Azir with 37 and Corki with 30, by the outlet's count.

What the head coach said about the new mid laner

Team Vitality's head coach, Pad, commented on the arrival after it was announced. According to Sheep Esports, he presented FIESTA as a player who shares many of Humanoid's strengths: self-sufficient in his lane, mechanically gifted, able to move the game forward across the map and strong in teamfights, the moments when the ten players fight together.

Pad also spoke about the new assistant coach. Hansen was previously an assistant coach at Movistar KOI, the team that beat Team Vitality in the Spring playoffs. The head coach expects him to bring experience and structure to drafts, the phase before each game in which the teams choose and ban champions, and to scouting, the study of opponents, Sheep Esports reported.

Hansen joins a staff led by Pad, with Garih as the other assistant coach, Arvindir as strategic coach and Milan as analyst. Lukezy is parting ways with the organization.

Three series in Paris to start

FIESTA's first LEC series will be played in Paris. The Summer Split opens with a roadtrip, the name the LEC gives to rounds hosted by one of its teams. Karmine Corp hosts this one at the Adidas Arena in Paris from July 24 to 26, and invited G2 Esports, Movistar KOI and Team Vitality, Sheep Esports reported on May 11. The outlet described the guests, with the host, as the four strongest teams of the Spring Split, and wrote that the arena is reported to hold between 8,000 and 10,000 spectators for sporting events.

It is the fourth roadtrip of the 2026 season, by the same report. Karmine Corp already hosted one in April, during the Spring Split, in Évry-Courcouronnes. The Adidas Arena has already held League of Legends at the highest level: it hosted the quarterfinals and semifinals of the 2024 world championship.

Six best-of-three series are scheduled over the three days, two a day, so each of the four teams plays the other three.

Schedule published by Sheep Esports on May 11, 2026; Spring results from its reports of May 25 and June 22: eight wins in nine series, the one loss to Karmine Corp.

The weekend therefore puts the new mid laner, in his first three series in the league, against the one team that beat Team Vitality in the Spring regular season and against one of the two that beat it in the playoffs.

What the Summer Split decides

Summer uses the same format as Spring, according to Riot Games' announcement of October 2025: ten teams, a single round robin of best-of-three series, and the top six in best-of-five playoffs. Each team plays nine series, so Team Vitality will have played a third of its regular season by the end of the weekend in Paris.

The stake is different. The top three teams of the Summer Split qualify for Worlds, the world championship of League of Legends, under the same announcement. A fifth place, the result of the spring, would not be enough.

The season ends on the road as well: the Summer finals are scheduled from September 4 to 6 at the Madrid Arena, Sheep Esports wrote in May.

After Paris, the rest of the league joins. Team Vitality's next opponent is Team Heretics on July 31, in the second week, Sheep Esports reported on July 7. Team Vitality will arrive there with four of its Spring starters and one new name in the middle of the map.
