BetBoom will play their next three Counter-Strike 2 tournaments with two stand-ins, players borrowed to fill a place for a limited time. The team announced that FL4MUS and zorte take the places of d1Ledez and ArtFr0st, HLTV, the reference news site for the game, reported on Monday, March 23, 2026. The reason given is visa issues, in those words and no others.
The timing is what gives the change its weight. All three tournaments are played before April 6, the date on which the standings used to invite teams to the IEM Cologne Major are read. HLTV called the news a severe blow to the team's hopes of reaching that tournament.
HLTV, March 23, 2026. The 14 days run from March 23 to April 6.
Two players out, two players in
A Counter-Strike team plays with five. Three of BetBoom's usual five travel: S1ren, Magnojez and Boombl4. The other two, d1Ledez and ArtFr0st, miss the three events. HLTV's report gives no detail on the visas concerned, and the team's announcement, as the site relays it, names no country and no date of return.
The two replacements arrive by different routes. FL4MUS joins on loan, an arrangement in which a player under contract elsewhere plays for another team for a set period. zorte is a former BetBoom player: the team moved him to its bench in July 2025, and HLTV wrote that he reunites with his former teammates. Artem "Fierce" Ivanov remains the coach.
The change covers the three events named in the announcement, in Romania, Portugal and Spain, and HLTV's report says nothing about the lineup after them.
| Player | Status | Rating | Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magnojez | Travels | 1.22 | 76 |
| S1ren | Travels | 1.09 | 76 |
| Boombl4 | Travels | 0.94 | 67 |
| zorte | Stand-in, from TDK | 1.19 | 77 |
| FL4MUS | Stand-in, on loan | 1.07 | 13 |
| ArtFr0st | Misses the three events | 1.15 | 76 |
| d1Ledez | Misses the three events | 1.10 | 76 |
HLTV, player boxes of the March 23, 2026 report. The stand-ins' figures were recorded with their previous teams.
The rating in the table is HLTV's own measure, a single figure that sums up a player's kills, deaths and damage over a period. The two missing players were both at 1.10 or above over 76 maps, a map being one full game inside a series. Only Magnojez, among the three who travel, had a higher figure than ArtFr0st.

FL4MUS, who is 21, spent the winter at OG. He joined that team on loan from Virtus.pro in November, HLTV reported on March 7, and averaged a 1.11 rating across a four-month stint there, according to the March 23 report.
His time in OG's active five ended sixteen days before BetBoom's announcement. On March 7, OG announced the arrival of bodyy on loan from 3DMAX to take FL4MUS's place, and listed FL4MUS as inactive. HLTV described it as OG's first roster change of the year. With FL4MUS in the five, OG had started 2026 with a semi-final place at DreamHack Knockout Stockholm, then finished last at BLAST Bounty and at a CCT series event and left the IEM Atlanta closed qualifier between ninth and twelfth place, the same report said.
zorte, who is 27, knows the team he is joining. After his benching in July 2025 he has been playing for TDK since January, where HLTV credits him with an average rating of 1.18. TDK won ECL Season 51 Europe Cup 1 in February, the site reported at the time. His figure of 1.19 over the last three months is the second highest of the seven players in the table, and it was built over 77 maps, one more than BetBoom's regulars played in the same period.
The two stand-ins therefore bring different kinds of preparation. zorte has played a full schedule and has worn BetBoom's colors before. FL4MUS has played 13 maps in three months.
Why the next two weeks count
The Majors are the tournaments sponsored by Valve, the publisher of Counter-Strike 2, and the most important of the calendar. Places are not bought or held by right. Valve's Major rulebook sets the field at 32 teams, all of them invited on the basis of the Valve Regional Standings, a ranking Valve keeps for three regions, Europe, the Americas and Asia, and usually shortened to VRS.
Related readFaZe name Neityu as stand-in for three events after karrigan exitThe rulebook divides the 32 into three entry points. Sixteen teams start in Stage 1, eight are invited straight to Stage 2 and eight straight to Stage 3. Each stage is played by sixteen teams in a Swiss bracket, a system in which teams with the same record of wins and losses meet each other; three wins send a team forward and three losses send it home. The best eight of Stage 3 play a single-elimination bracket.
For the IEM Cologne Major, the standings are read on April 6. HLTV's guide to the period, published on March 22, gives that date as the invitation deadline and counts ten places for the Americas and five for Asia.
BetBoom entered March on the right side of most of their rivals. In the VRS update Valve released on March 2, as HLTV printed it, they were 19th in the world with 1,417 points. Monte were one place above with 1,429. Gentle Mates and HEROIC, 15th and 16th, had 1,476 and 1,475. Just behind came B8 with 1,404, HOTU with 1,401, Liquid with 1,400 and 3DMAX with 1,397. Eight European teams in that part of the table stood within 79 points of each other.
The picture has moved since. HLTV's predicted standings, which estimate where teams will sit on the cut-off date, placed BetBoom 22nd in Europe on March 23, outside the range that earns an invitation. In the March 22 guide the site listed five teams on the cusp of an invitation: BIG, Gentle Mates, FaZe, Passion UA and BetBoom. In HLTV's own world ranking, a separate list from Valve's, BetBoom went from 26th on March 16 to 29th on March 23.

The schedule is the one HLTV's guide had listed a day before the announcement. The guide described the team as hopping from event to event in search of prize money and wins on LAN, meaning tournaments played in a venue with all teams present rather than over the internet. The guide explains that both push a team up Valve's standings. The March 2 table shows how much that matters for this team: of BetBoom's 1,417 points, 558 sat in the column headed LANW, the largest of the four positive columns in its row.
- Bucharest, March 24 to 26BC Game Masters Championship Season 1, US$50,000. BetBoom are seeded into the playoff bracket, which starts on March 25.
- Vila Nova de Gaia, March 28 to 30Roman Imperium Cup VII in Portugal, US$12,000, with eight teams listed.
- Barcelona, April 1 to 4Stake Ranked Episode 1, US$100,000 and eight teams. It is the richest of the LAN events before the deadline.
The first stop gives the new five almost no time. BC Game Masters Championship Season 1 begins in Bucharest on Tuesday, March 24, the day after the announcement. BetBoom do not play the opening phase: HLTV reports that they are seeded directly into the single-elimination playoffs, a bracket in which one defeat ends a team's tournament, and that those begin on March 25. The guide lists twelve teams there: G2, Gentle Mates, HOTU, Passion UA, SINNERS, BIG, HEROIC, Monte, BetBoom, ECSTATIC, 9INE and BESTIA.
The team then travels back-to-back to Portugal and Spain, in HLTV's words. Roman Imperium Cup VII has the smallest prize pool of the three. Its listed field is G2, BIG, Fluxo, BESTIA, HEROIC, BetBoom, Wildcard and SINNERS.
Stake Ranked Episode 1 closes the run. The eight teams named by HLTV are G2, HEROIC, Ninjas in Pyjamas, 9INE, GamerLegion, Gentle Mates, BetBoom and Nemesis. The guide counted BetBoom, Nemesis and 9INE among the teams making a last attempt there to reach Stage 1 of the Major.

One feature of the schedule stands out in HLTV's report. G2, HEROIC, GamerLegion and Gentle Mates are named as teams that will be present across the events BetBoom attend. Two of them, HEROIC and Gentle Mates, were above BetBoom in the March 2 standings, 58 and 59 points ahead.
The rankings printed on the March 23 report show the level of that company. G2 were 13th in HLTV's world ranking, GamerLegion 16th, HEROIC 18th and Gentle Mates 24th, all of them above BetBoom's 29th. OG, the team FL4MUS played for until this month, were 42nd, and TDK, zorte's team since January, 56th.
G2 and HEROIC are entered in all three of BetBoom's tournaments, according to the fields in the March 22 guide. G2 are in a different position from most of the others: HLTV counts them among the teams whose invitation is effectively secured and who are playing these events to earn a start in a later stage of the Major. The guide adds that Bucharest is G2's first LAN with NertZ, a player who arrived in a swap with Liquid, and that the team wants five matches with him before the deadline.
Around these tournaments, the calendar is crowded. HLTV's guide counted twelve LAN events in the two weeks before April 6, from Stockholm to Shanghai and from Rio de Janeiro to Moscow, eleven of them with prize pools between US$11,518 and US$50,000. BetBoom's three include the richest of the twelve.
What is known about the weeks after
The announcement covers three tournaments and stops there. HLTV's report does not say whether d1Ledez and ArtFr0st are expected back for a later event, and it carries no statement from the players, the coach or the organization beyond the announcement itself.
Valve's rulebook adds one point that applies only if BetBoom are invited. A team's registered lineup for a Major must match the roster that was invited, and each team may register one optional substitute and one optional coach. The rulebook also says that when an invited roster is no longer intact, the invitation passes to the next team in the standings.
The dates ahead are fixed. BetBoom's first match in Bucharest comes on or after March 25, when the playoff bracket opens. Roman Imperium Cup VII runs from March 28 to 30 and Stake Ranked Episode 1 from April 1 to 4. Two days after the last match in Barcelona, on April 6, the standings are read and the 32 invitations to Cologne follow. ESL, the organizer of the Major, announced in February that its third stage will be played from June 11 to 15, in best-of-three series only.
