The second day of IEM Beijing 2026 cut the Counter-Strike 2 field from sixteen teams to twelve. On Tuesday, November 3, Legacy, FaZe Clan, 9z Team and G2 Esports were knocked out, according to Field Level Media. At the top of the two groups, FURIA, The MongolZ, MOUZ and PARIVISION each won an upper-bracket semifinal and moved into Wednesday's upper-bracket finals, according to the same outlet's schedule.

Monday's opening round started the double-elimination brackets. HLTV, Fragster and RG reported that Natus Vincere beat Team Falcons 2-0, HEROIC beat B8 2-0, The MongolZ beat Legacy 2-1 and FURIA beat FaZe Clan 2-1 in Group A. In Group B, MOUZ beat TYLOO 2-0, Team Liquid beat Aurora Gaming 2-0, PARIVISION beat G2 Esports 2-1 and BetBoom Team beat 9z Team 2-1. Those eight winners met each other on Tuesday in the upper bracket, and the eight losers met each other in the lower bracket.

On Tuesday, Field Level Media labeled four series as upper-bracket semifinals and four as lower-bracket quarterfinals. The first four teams were eliminated in the lower bracket, and eight teams remain alive there, the outlet said.

## How the group stage works

IEM Beijing is an ESL event for sixteen teams with a total prize pool of US$1.25 million, according to Field Level Media.

The sixteen teams are split into Group A and Group B, eight teams each. Field Level Media's results and schedule place The MongolZ, HEROIC, FURIA, Natus Vincere, B8, Legacy, Team Falcons and FaZe Clan in Group A, and MOUZ, BetBoom Team, PARIVISION, Team Liquid, TYLOO, 9z Team, Aurora Gaming and G2 Esports in Group B. Each group is a double-elimination bracket, which means a team has to lose twice to be out. A first loss sends a team to the lower bracket, where a second loss ends its tournament. Field Level Media said every series in the group stage is a best-of-three: the first team to win two maps takes it.

Three teams from each group continue. According to Field Level Media, group winners go straight to the playoff semifinals, while the runners-up enter the quarterfinals as high seeds and the third-place teams as low seeds. The playoffs are single elimination and begin on Friday, with best-of-three series until a best-of-five grand final on Sunday.
## Group A: The MongolZ and FURIA reach the upper final

The first upper-bracket semifinal of Group A went to The MongolZ, who beat HEROIC 2-0. Field Level Media listed the maps as Inferno 13-7 and Nuke 19-17. Hotspawn, which published its report on November 3, added that Inferno was level at 6-6 at halftime, and that Nuke stood at 12-12 after regulation and 15-15 after the first overtime, so it ended in a second overtime. An overtime is an extra set of rounds played after a tie.

The other semifinal needed a third map; the other three upper-bracket semifinals of the day ended 2-0. FURIA beat Natus Vincere 2-1, losing Ancient 12-16 before winning Nuke 16-12 and Cache 13-10, Field Level Media listed. HLTV reported that Ancient went to overtime and that Natus Vincere won all four overtime rounds to take it. HLTV reported that Nuke also went to overtime. Hotspawn said FURIA trailed 3-9 at halftime on Nuke before forcing the decider, and HLTV described it as a map on which Natus Vincere held a 9-3 half on the CT side. Hotspawn gave Cache as 13-10 for FURIA, with an 8-4 first half. Natus Vincere dropped to the lower bracket, where HLTV and Field Level Media list them against B8 on Wednesday.

Below them, the two lower-bracket quarterfinals each ended 2-1. B8 beat Legacy and Team Falcons beat FaZe Clan. Field Level Media did not list the maps for these two series. Hotspawn reported B8 taking Dust2 13-11 and Mirage 13-9 against Legacy, with Legacy winning Cache 13-6. For Legacy and FaZe Clan, the result meant elimination in the 13th to 16th place band. Falcons and B8 stayed alive and move on to Wednesday's lower-bracket semifinals.

## Group B: MOUZ and PARIVISION reach the upper final

Group B's two upper-bracket semifinals were both sweeps. MOUZ beat BetBoom Team 2-0, with Ancient going 13-6 and Mirage going 16-14. HLTV reported that Mirage went to overtime, and Hotspawn said it stood at 12-12 after regulation before MOUZ won the overtime 4-2. PARIVISION beat Team Liquid 2-0 on Ancient 13-7 and Inferno 13-9.

In the lower bracket, TYLOO beat 9z Team 2-0 and Aurora Gaming beat G2 Esports 2-1. Hotspawn reported TYLOO winning Inferno 13-5 and then Cache 16-13 after overtime, with a 10-2 first half on Cache. For Aurora against G2, Hotspawn listed Nuke 13-9 for Aurora, Inferno 13-9 for G2 and Dust2 16-13 for Aurora in overtime. The losses ended the tournaments of 9z Team and G2 Esports, who placed in the same 13th to 16th band as Legacy and FaZe Clan. TYLOO and Aurora Gaming stayed alive and play Team Liquid and BetBoom Team respectively on Wednesday.

## Who has locked in a playoff spot

Hotspawn's report on November 3 named four teams as having secured their playoff places: PARIVISION, MOUZ, The MongolZ and FURIA. HLTV reported on the same day that MOUZ became the second team to clinch an IEM Beijing playoff spot after the 2-0 win over BetBoom Team. HLTV's report on FURIA and Natus Vincere said FURIA locked in a playoff spot by beating Natus Vincere on stage. Each of those teams still plays an upper-bracket final on Wednesday, and HLTV listed MOUZ against PARIVISION and FURIA against The MongolZ.

## The four teams that went out

The eliminated teams are Legacy, FaZe Clan, 9z Team and G2 Esports. Each finishes in the 13th to 16th band of the prize table, which Field Level Media printed in full. The 13th to 16th places are listed at US$4,000 each, all of it as the player prize, with US$0 listed as team share. Four teams at US$4,000 each come to US$16,000 of the pool.

The first-place prize in the same table is US$360,000, which is 90 times the US$4,000 listed for 13th to 16th, and the second place is US$210,000. The table gives a player prize and a team share for every placing. It listed the teams for places 1 to 12 as still to be determined. Adding up the table, the player prizes come to US$300,000 and the team shares to US$950,000, which together make the US$1.25 million pool. The first-place total of US$360,000 is 28.8 per cent of the pool, and each 9th to 12th placing, listed at US$25,000, is 6.25 times the 13th to 16th figure.

## How the field was put together

The field was assembled by invitation plus closed qualifiers. ESL's team-invite page, published on August 13, 2026, said invitations were issued based on the Valve Regional Standings as of August 3. Thirteen teams were named on that page: Team Liquid, 9Z Globant, The MongolZ, Falcons, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, Legacy, FURIA, BetBoom, G2, Aurora, PARIVISION and FaZe Clan. The remaining three places were reserved for qualifiers: two for the global closed qualifier and one for the Asia closed qualifier.

The ESL page described the main event as two double-elimination groups of eight teams, with the top three from each group advancing to the playoffs. It also said the closed qualifiers involved 24 teams, 16 in the global qualifier and 8 in the Asia qualifier, and that the global winner and runner-up and the Asia winner advanced to the main event. It listed 16 slots in the global closed qualifier, where HEROIC and B8 were among the twelve teams named, and 8 slots in the Asia closed qualifier, where TYLOO was among the four named.

The ESL page gave the total winnings of the main event as US$1,250,000, the same figure as Field Level Media. The same page listed several declined invitations. Among them, according to ESL, Team Vitality, ranked fifth in the standings, turned down its invite and was replaced by PARIVISION, ranked twelfth. Team Spirit, ranked first, also declined and was replaced by FaZe Clan, ranked thirteenth. PARIVISION, the replacement for Vitality, won an upper-bracket semifinal on Tuesday, and FaZe Clan, the replacement for Spirit, was eliminated.

The ESL page said the event counts toward the race for the US$1 million ESL Grand Slam, and that teams had to keep a majority of the roster they held when invited, with rosters due on October 19, 2026.

## What happens next

Wednesday is the last day of the group stage, and Field Level Media listed the schedule in advance. In Group A, The MongolZ face FURIA in the upper-bracket final, while Natus Vincere play B8 and HEROIC play Team Falcons in the lower-bracket semifinals. In Group B, MOUZ face PARIVISION in the upper-bracket final, while Team Liquid play TYLOO and BetBoom Team play Aurora Gaming in the lower-bracket semifinals.

Six of the sixteen teams advance from the two groups, so ten are out by the end of the group stage. Four of those ten went out on Tuesday, which leaves six eliminations still to come.

Each lower-bracket semifinal pairs a team that survived Tuesday with a team that dropped out of the upper bracket. The upper-bracket finals decide the two group winners, who, according to Field Level Media, skip the quarterfinals and go straight to the playoff semifinals. Runners-up and third-place teams enter the quarterfinals as high and low seeds.
