FURIA won PGL Masters Bucharest on Saturday, October 31, 2026, beating Nemiga Gaming 3-2 in a best-of-five grand final played at the organizer's studio in Bucharest. HLTV reported that the result gave the organization its second Counter-Strike 2 trophy in a row, coming less than a fortnight after the Thunderpick World Championship.

The series swung back and forth. Nemiga took the opening map, FURIA won the next two, Nemiga forced a decider on the fourth, and FURIA closed it on Nuke. According to Keengamer, the title paid US$450,000 out of a US$1.25 million pool.

## How the event was built

PGL Masters Bucharest ran from October 24 to October 31, 2026, with sixteen teams, according to Strafe's preview of the event. The tournament was moved to Bucharest from Belgrade in December 2025 and is played at PGL Studios in Bucharest, Romania, according to Strafe.

It had two parts. The first was a Swiss stage from October 24 to October 28. In a Swiss system, teams are not placed in a fixed bracket. Instead, after each round, teams with the same record play one another. At this event a team advanced with three wins and was eliminated with three losses, and every match was a best-of-three, meaning the first side to win two maps takes the series. Keengamer counted 33 series in the stage, and eight teams moved on.

The second part was an eight-team, single-elimination playoff held from October 29 to October 31. Strafe reported that the quarterfinals, semifinals and the third-place match were best-of-three, while the grand final was a best-of-five, where three maps are needed to win.

Twelve of the sixteen places went to teams invited through Valve's world ranking, known as the Valve Regional Standings, or VRS. The other four came from regional qualifiers played in September: Nemiga Gaming for Europe, Team Liquid for North America, DENDELE for South America and TYLOO for Asia. Strafe listed Nemiga's roster as khaN, syph0, KaiR0N-, robo and Xant3r.

## The road through the playoffs

Keengamer published the full playoff results on October 31, 2026. All eight teams that reached the bracket had finished the Swiss stage on three wins. BetBoom Team and FUT Esports went through at 3-0. Vitality, MOUZ and Aurora Gaming went through at 3-1. FURIA, Nemiga and Natus Vincere got in at 3-2, the narrowest way to qualify.

FURIA reached the final by beating BetBoom Team 2-0 on Thursday, October 29, and then MOUZ 2-1 the next day. Nemiga arrived on the other side of the bracket with two clean wins, 2-0 over FUT Esports and 2-0 over Vitality. That left a final between a team HLTV ranks third in the world and one it ranks 21st, according to HLTV's October 26, 2026 ranking as cited in its live report of the final.

MOUZ also took the third-place match on October 31, beating Vitality 2-0.

## Five maps in the final

The final started with a heavy defeat. Nemiga won Ancient 13-2, and HLTV's live report said Nemiga broke FURIA's setup on the B bombsite early, and noted YEKINDAR's early impact for FURIA.

FURIA reset on Dust2 and won it 13-5, then took Cache 13-2. HLTV's report said FURIA won the pistol round on Cache after a triple kill from YEKINDAR. A pistol round is the opening round of each half, when both sides have only starting weapons.

Mirage was the closest map and the one that kept Nemiga alive. HLTV's live report had FURIA down 2-9 and later 3-10 before YEKINDAR led a comeback. Nemiga held on and won 13-11 to force a fifth map. The report said YEKINDAR went 17-2 in kills and deaths on the map, and that it still was not enough.

On the deciding Nuke, HLTV's report said Nemiga kept it close through khaN, who won a 1v3 and later a 3v5 conversion, and through a triple kill from KaiR0N-, which gave Nemiga its first round on the counter-terrorist side of the map. FURIA closed it 13-6 for the trophy.

Across the five maps, FURIA won 52 rounds and Nemiga 39, a total of 91 rounds. Those counts are the sum of the map scores above.

## The scoreboard

According to HLTV's report, YEKINDAR had the best numbers in the series, with 82 kills and 57 deaths, an ADR of 99.6 and a Rating 3.0 of 1.56, the highest of any player on the server. His teammates KSCERATO (64-49, 1.15) and FalleN (65-57, 1.09) were the next best for FURIA, while yuurih finished at 0.99 and molodoy at 0.90. ADR is the average damage a player deals per round, and Rating 3.0 is HLTV's all-round performance score. HLTV added that he led the scoreboard on three of the five maps and, on Ancient, posted a map rating 0.74 higher than his closest teammate.

For Nemiga, HLTV's numbers put khaN first. He finished 67-54 with a 1.18 rating, ahead of syph0 (46-66, 0.91), Xant3r and KaiR0N- (0.89 each) and robo (0.84), and HLTV noted a 1.65 map rating from him on Dust2, the one Nemiga player to keep his level there.

HLTV quoted YEKINDAR as saying he does not expect a performance like this at every tournament, a point he made by calling it a life tournament.

## Nemiga's run from the qualifier

Nemiga arrived ranked 21st by HLTV, against FURIA's third. HLTV described the roster as majority Russian and said it came through both the open and closed qualifiers. Keengamer's round-by-round record shows the path in Bucharest: a 2-0 win over Legacy on October 24, 2-0 losses to BetBoom Team on October 25 and Aurora Gaming on October 26, and then 2-0 wins over DENDELE on October 27 and The MongolZ on October 28. That made a 3-2 Swiss record and a place in the bracket on the last day of the stage.

Once in the playoffs the team did not drop a map until the final, according to the Keengamer results above.

Pley wrote on October 19, 2026, citing HLTV, that a playoff place in Bucharest would seal Nemiga's Major spot. Valve issues the invitations.

## What the title means for FURIA

HLTV's live report said FURIA had struggled for results for most of the season and described FalleN's farewell tour as finally picking up steam. It also noted that FURIA won the Thunderpick World Championship shortly before Bucharest, where KSCERATO was named MVP. HLTV quoted FalleN as saying that he was closing out his last competition on European soil by lifting one more trophy.

Keengamer showed that FURIA entered the playoffs with a 3-2 Swiss record. Beating BetBoom Team, MOUZ and Nemiga along the way meant three different opponents in three rounds. Keengamer's Swiss results show FURIA also beat Team Liquid 2-0 in the decider on October 28.

The prize money is worth stating carefully because the event splits its pool two ways. Strafe reported before the event that the US$1.25 million pool was divided into US$625,000 of prize money and US$625,000 of club rewards, and that the winner would receive US$225,000 of each, US$450,000 in all. Keengamer's results page lists the same first-place total and gave Nemiga US$200,000, MOUZ US$137,500 and Vitality US$87,500. Four quarterfinal losers, BetBoom Team, Aurora Gaming, Natus Vincere and FUT Esports, each received US$50,000 on that page.

Worth knowing
The Major invitations are decided by ranking, not by a qualifier

Pley reported that all 32 teams at the PGL Major Singapore are invited from the Valve Regional Standings and that invitations are issued on Monday, November 2. Strafe noted that PGL Masters Bucharest was a ranked event but that it awarded no direct Major spots.

Strafe placed the ranking cut-off on November 2, two days after the final. Pley described the PGL Major Singapore as running from November 24 to December 13, 2026, with a US$1.25 million pool, a Europe allocation of 18 places, nine for the Americas and five for Asia. It will be the first Major with a third-place decider before the best-of-five grand final.

Pley listed FURIA among the six Americas teams with a spot already locked in before the tournament. Pley, citing HLTV, said a playoff place would seal Nemiga's Major spot. Valve issues the invitations, and the list had not been published in the sources used here.

## What comes next

According to HLTV, FURIA now travel to Asia for IEM Beijing and BLAST Rivals Season 2. Keengamer also said FURIA are heading toward IEM Beijing 2026 and the PGL Major Singapore 2026. No dates for those events appear in the sources used here, so they are not repeated.

For FURIA, the trip to Asia follows two trophies in under two weeks. Nemiga, who came through the European qualifier, took the winners to a fifth map.
